Inter have been given a source of hope in their attempts to sign PSV Eindhoven ace Ibrahim Afellay, but face strong competition from Juventus.
Afellay has brushed aside theories he was only interested in joining a top Spanish club, giving Inter added hope they can land him, according to Tuttosport.
"I never said I wanted to join Real Madrid or Barcelona only. I like La Liga more, but that doesn't mean anything," he said.
And Inter are hopeful of using Wesley Sneijder's influence to become intimately connected with the Dutchman.
Afellay is eager to make the big step up, but the Nerazzurri would need at least €10 million before they can sit at the negotiating table. The midfielder will also expect €2.5m per annum as a basis for leaving his current club.
However, Inter's transfer mettle will be tested by Juventus who are also keen.
The Bianconeri will match or better any Nerazzurri offers, and their aim is to play with Afellay on the left, and Milos Krasic on the right.
