Retired Ghana captain Stephen Appiah says he is ready to kick start the season with his new club Casena.
The 29 year old announced his retirement last week in order to concentrate more on his club football and says he is raring to go.
"I didn't play a lot of games for Bologna last season but I'm hoping to get more playing time this season,” the 29-year-old told the BBC.
"In training I've showed the coach that I'm ready to play and I feel good.
"I've had a difficult time in the last two years and I'm determined to put that behind me and enjoy my football again," the former Fenerbahce ace said.
The Serie-A new boys open their accounts in a very difficult encounter away to Roma.
