A report on the one-day mutiny by France's international football side during this year's World Cup has reserved harsh criticism for former coach Raymond Domenech, according to a leaked commission's report onThursday.

The report was drawn up by a commission appointed by the French Football Federation (FFF) to shed light on the background of the players' refusal to train on June 19 after striker Nicolas Anelka was sent packing for insulting Domenech.

Among six specific complaints directed at the former manager, the report blasts him for "choices that were not explained and therefore were not understood and gave rise to discontent, even resentment" among the players.

The report also criticizes Domenech for failing to take decisions to resolve the altercation with Anelka and for failing to inform the FFF that it occurred.

In addition, while Anelka refused to issue a public apology to Domenech, he offered to excuse himself in private, but the coach refused.

Three of the 18 players interviewed by the commission said it was Domenech himself who informed the daily L'Equipe of Anelka's obscene tirade.

The newspaper featured the story prominently, provoking the player rebellion and an ensuing national trauma that even involved President Nicolas Sarkozy.

Finally, the report notes that former FFF president Jean-Pierre Escalettes wanted to be with Sports Minister Roselyne Bachelot the morning after the strike, when she addressed the entire team. But she refused, declaring: "It's an order from Sarkozy."
