Gillot received the punishment for "abusive and threatening behaviour towards the referee" during his side's Ligue 1 match at home to Paris Saint-Germain on the fourth weekend of the season.

The 50-year-old was sent to the stands by referee Ruddy Buquet in the sixth minute of the game, which Sochaux went on to win 3-1.

He was also handed a suspended ban for a further two games.
