Government Solicits Support For Nyantakyi In CAF Contest

The Ghana government has in the clearest indication shown its full backing to Kwasi Nyantakyi for a Caf Executive Committee position.

There have been reports of government's reluctance in giving its full blessing to Ghana's candidate especially after the 'Abedi Pele' furore.

However all of such doubts were put to rest on Wednesday by the Ghana's vice President John Dramani Mahama during the commissioning of the Fifa Goal III project.

With a host of dignitaries including 17 heads of various African football associations/federations, the vice president openly solicited support for Mr. Nyantakyie ahead of the elections to be held in Sudan later in the year.

"I wish to solicit the support of all our African FA presidents here and those not here to support the candidacy of the president of the Ghana Football Association, Mr. Kwasi Nyantakyi for the Caf Executive Committee post," H.E John Mahama said.
