Manchester United and England midfielder Owen Hargreaves has said his latest comeback bid will be his last.
The 29-year-old has not made a start for United in two years, after breaking down close to returns. Hargreaves looks set to make his return in ‘The Reds’ Carling Cup clash with Wolves on October 26.
A friend of Hargreaves told The Sun: "Owen has done everything to come back but the pain and effort has been huge.
"He has decided to give it one last big push but if this doesn't work that will probably be it.
"The pain in his knees has not just affected his football, but normal life."
A fit Owen Hargreaves would still be a major player on the international scene and would provide major competition to Gareth Barry in the holding midfielder role.
