Roque Santa Cruz is close to sealing a move to Lazio for an undisclosed fee.

City boss Roberto Mancini confirmed the bid from the Italians after their 0-1 defeat to Sunderland on Sunday.

Lazio on the other hand a ready to fund the deal for the expensive marksman with the proceeds they'll recieve from the sale of Mauro Zarate to Fiorentina.

Santa Cruz, joined City from Blackburn in 2009 but has since seen his appearance curtailed by a series of injuries and has now been declared surplus to requirements at the Eastlands outfit.
